Saving private Ryan isa film which very vividly expresses both the anguish and turmoil associated with the second world war, and war in general. The journey to save Private Ryan in the film shows how events such as D-Day took place. Though it had graphic images of war these helped my understanding of how gruesome Europe had become around this time period. My favourite scene was the battle in the fictional city of Romell as it showed the audience how war was conducted by both the Germans and Americans. This scene also gave some prospective on what it was like to be a soldier on the frontier of war. I feel that because of watching saving private Ryan I now have a firmer grasp on the concept of war. The acting was very well done as well. The actors showed real fear as they faced the many obstacles on their way to find the lost private. The special effects were extremely realistic, from the weapons the actors used, to the explosions and environmental damage. The movie was well produced and provided vivid examples of how combat affected soldiers during the second world war period. Post traumatic stress and other unfortunate realities of battle were also portrayed in a way that made the movie extremely realistic.
